Mocktails for Your Summer Soirée
While many of us enjoy a cocktail now and then during the summer, sometimes a non-alcohol option is the way to go. Summer is bursting with flavor, and these summer mocktails will not disappoint.Tiki Cooler
Place ice in a pitcher and add pineapple juice, coconut milk, lime juice, and almond-flavored syrup. Stir until chilled. Strain the mixture and pour it into glasses. Top each glass with sparkling water for the mocktail to foam up. Sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg on top. Garnish with lime and mint, and add an umbrella for fun. Fire up the grill and add grilled pineapple for extra flare.
Raspberry Lemonade Spritzer
Fruit preserves quickly add intense fruit flavor to your drinks. For this drink, top raspberry jam with lemon juice and sparkling water is just as good as it sounds. In a glass, muddle four raspberries, then stir in 1 tbsp raspberry jam and top with a splash of Limonata. Stir to combine and fill the glass with ice. Top with Limonata and fresh lemon juice. Garnish with more berries, lemon slices, and mint, and enjoy! Grilling the lemon slices brings out the citrus flavor all the more.
Pamplemousse La Croix and Lavender Mocktail
This recipe mixes Pamplemousse La Croix with homemade lavender simple syrup and fresh grapefruit juice to hit the spot when you're with friends (and even when you're not). Add water, sugar, and lavender to a small saucepan over high heat to make the syrup. Whisk to combine and bring the mixture to a boil. Cover, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to steep for about 30 minutes, covered. Strain the lavender buds from the liquid and discard them. Allow the mixture to cool. Add grapefruit juice and simple syrup to a shaker. Shake, then pour evenly into glasses. Top each drink with La Croix. Garnish with grapefruit, and enjoy.
Mexican Strawberry Water (Agua de Fresa)
Mix strawberries, sugar, and 1 cup of cold water in a bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4 hours. Pour chilled strawberry mixture into a blender. Blend on high until smooth. Use a strainer to discard pulp and seeds. Stir 7 cups cold water into strawberry juice until well combined. Fill glasses with ice and pour in aqua de fresa. Garnish each serving with lime wedges and mint leaves. Grilled strawberries will even add just the right summer touch.
Blueberry Lime
In a small saucepan, add blueberries, honey, and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes to mash berries. Set aside to cool. Once cooled, place 2 Tbls of the blueberry mixture in the bottom of each glass and add ice. Pour 3 oz sparkling water and 2 oz of lime juice over the ice in each glass and stir. Top with blueberries, lime slices, and fresh mint. Lime slices are great grilled as well.
