As the situation around coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we have taken some
additional steps to best meet the needs of our customers and employees:
- Regular Store Hours
- Bellevue, Banksville, McKnight and Hopewell:
8am - 10pm Monday - Saturday, and 8am - 9pm Sunday
- Highwood: 8am - 6pm
- Ingomar: 9am - 9pm
- Ferguson: 8am - 9pm (9am - 9pm every M, W, F)
- Beulah: 9am - 7pm
- Special Hours for Senior Citizen & Immunocompromised Shopping:
- Every Monday, Wednesday & Friday, the following stores will open one
hour early for Senior Citizens ages 60+ & the Immunocompromised only:
- Bellevue, Highwood, Banksville, McKnight & Hopewell
- Beulah & Ingomar
- Every Monday, Wednesday & Friday, the Ferguson location is limiting
their 1 st open hour of business, from 8am - 9am, to Senior Citizens ages 60+ and the Immunocompromised only.
- Sanitation
- We have always employed safe food handling and sanitation practices that meet
or exceed state guidelines. In response to COVID-19, we are regularly spraying
our carts, hand baskets, checkout lanes and service counters with an additional
disinfectant. We have begun installing plexiglass to separate the cashier and
customer at all checkout lanes and customer service areas. We will follow all
recommendations from the PA Department of Health and the CDC. As events
unfold, we will make whatever changes are necessary to ensure the health and
safety of our customers and our employees.
- Reusable Bags
- Per the recommendation of the PA Department of Health, we are discouraging
the use of reusable bags. For your convenience, we continue to offer single use
paper and plastic bags.
- Employee Health and Safety
- We continue to supply our employees with information and tools to keep them
safe, including the directive to stay at home and get checked if they experience
any symptoms. Beginning March 15, all employees received a pay increase
that will extend until May 2. We extend a sincere thank you, from the bottom of
our hearts, to our employees who work hard every day to ensure that we all
have food on our table.
- Social Distancing
- We are asking all customers and employees to maintain adequate distance
between each other. Our floors are marked to indicate where to stand while
waiting in line at checkout. It is recommended to maintain a distance of 6 feet
apart, which is approximately equivalent to 2 shopping carts.
- Advertising
- Many retailers are cancelling advertising due to the inconsistency of supply.
We disagree with this approach, and will continue to distribute a weekly
circular and offer the same hot deals to which you have grown accustomed.
However, we ask for your understanding if we are out of certain items. We will
not be substituting or issuing rainchecks.
- Return Policy
- Due to our inability to monitor products that have left our stores, we are
temporarily declining all returns (including refunds, store credits and product
exchanges). This is for the health and safety of our customers and employees.
All sales are final unless there is a quality problem with the product at the time
of purchase.
- In Demand Items
- We are limiting purchases of high demand products such as bath and facial
tissue, paper towels, hand sanitizer and cleaning products. Other items may
be limited at store level as well.
- Online Shopping
- We currently offer online shopping with curbside pickup at our Banksville
location, and will soon extend this capability to our Ingomar location as well.
We are working to increase our fulfillment capabilities to help meet the
increased demand for pickup services. We are also working to extend this
capability to our other locations in the near future.
- Prepared Foods & Cafe
- As we focus on the health and safety of our customers and employees, our
self-service areas are temporarily closed until further notice. We are pre-
packing as many items as we can. The seating areas in the Kuhn's Cafe
(Banksville & McKnight) are closed, although beer (& wine at Banksville) is still
available for purchase.
Our dedicated management team is continually addressing any and all changes to policies
and procedures as conditions change. We appreciate the patience and understanding of
our customers as we work through this together.
